The new CMV Driver Basics for Entry-Level Training which took effect on May 21, 2004 by the US Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

The compliance time line is as follows:

An entry-level driver who will begin operating a CMV in interstate commerce on or after July 21, 2004, must receive this training before driving a CMV.

Behind the wheel training, Class A or B CDL:

Choose either private or semi-private lessons. We believe private lessons are the best way to learn and the next best way is 2 to 1 (2 students per instructor). Our semi-private lessons are just that, 2 students per instructor, 4 hours per day. Other schools put up to 4 students in a truck for 8 hours a day, so each student has about 2 hours of driving in that 8 hour period.
